Bajaj Motorcycles or bikes started its journey in Bangladesh together with the hands of Uttara Motors In 1980. Across the whole Bangladesh, Uttara Motors Limited Bajaj Motorcycles are being marketed successfully importing, adding and selling by 250 dealers. Bajaj bikes are very popular here in Bangladesh, and the people are now using Bajaj Bikes its near about 1.5 million.
5% tax for importing of raw materials for manufacturing bikes, which is 89 percent for CKD. And that’s why most of the foreign motorcycle brands, they have already started work on setting up factories in Bangladesh. Though China, Japan and Europe have very few of motorcycles which are selling in Bangladesh but all of them Indian brands are the biggest one, with 80 percent of motorcycle sales in the country. Amount all the Indian brands, Bajaj holds more than 50 percent.
This year the local market leader Bajaj has started production their bikes in the country by Uttara Motors Limited, which is the sole distributor of Bajaj Motorcycles. Transasia Industries Limited is the name of Motorcycle Manufacturing Plant which has been built by Uttara Motors in the Zirani Bazar of Savar. They have initially started production of Bajaj's five models in this factory, the models are given below.
